Aaaawwww yyyeeeaaahh I’m-a gettin’ published :) at least a little bit!

One of my poems is going to be included in the next issue of the Wild Roof Journal! They are a visual and literary arts journal, where you can find paintings, photography, short fiction, and poetry. I’ll be in their upcoming issue number 5, to be released in November.

I’m grateful they chose me for many reasons, not least of which because I really like their vibe; very nature-focused, surreal and philosophical. The poem of mine that they chose is one of my best, and also one of my oldest--I wrote most of it eight and a half years ago, and I’ve been making slight adjustments to it ever since… I think it’s about ready.

I feel ebullient now. This will be the first time any of my creative writing has been published. I’ve entered short story contests, and I’ve performed my poetry on stage, but I’ve never been published before. It’s a big step for me, though only the first of a long road, a road I long to climb nonetheless.

I can’t publish the poem on this site for now, but I will provide a link when the new issue of Wild Roof Journal comes out! So stay tuned for that (it’ll be a while though).

Keepin’ it short and sweet today, but I’ve got some heavier, juicier posts on deck. Soooo… How you doin? Let me know in the comments!
